Establishment

The Chandler Compadres were established in 1980 as a non-profit organization with the sole mission of providing support for East Valley families in need.  The group started with fewer than 20 members and now has over 100 active and life members.  The Chandler Compadres donate their time, resources, talents and money to help disadvantaged kids in Chandler and the east valley.  Compadre members are civic-minded business and community leaders in industries which currently include agriculture, information technology, engineering, grocery, banking, law, advertising, real estate, small business and government.

Membership

The Chandler Compadres consists of a maximum of 40 active members and over 60 life members.  Members meet once monthly, and are required to meet yearly financial fundraising goals through a variety of events including the Compadre Golf Classic held in April and the annual Arizona Working Poor Tax Credit Program.  Membership in the Chandler Compadres requires an active or life member sponsor and approval by the Compadre board and full membership.

The Compadre membership includes notable community members and business leaders including former Chandler Mayor Jim Patterson, Michael Basha of Bashas’ Grocery and John Chapman of Chapman Chevrolet.

Leadership

The Current Chandler Compadre President is Michael Deutsch. He exemplifies what it takes to be a Chandler Compadre: Hard Work, Dedication, Vision, Heart and Passion. Michael develops and manages several commercial real estate properties in Chandler and the East Valley. His wife Jill and their two children are his #1 supporters and are proud of all he does to give back to our community. He has been a member of the Chandler Compadres since 2003 and a Chandler resident since 1994.
